Technical products are becoming more and more complex, this means that the drivers, mechanics and service personnel?s need for assistance such as the service literature is increasing. In this degree project the focus is on the technical manuals of Scania?s Workshop Manual. Today, the information in the Workshop Manual consists of collaboration between text and illustrations.

This master thesis states the following questions: Is it easy or difficult to retrive information from a mobile phone manual? How can the search process be described among user for a mobile phone manual? What similarities and differeces can be identified between users? Arhe there any variables that affect search performance such as reading skills or technical domain knowledge? Eight mobile phone users participated in an empirical observation and the scope was to find information in a paper version of a mobile phone manual according to given tasks. The results shows that some users has problems to retrieve information due to that the correct page in the mobile phone manual could not be located. The results show that the user is using several search strategies, for example the table of contents and the index, when trying to locate information. The results also revel that the user initiates multiple search steps before the correct information can be located.

Arbetet syftar till att undersöka standardiserade strukturer för implementeringen av virtuellt byggande i ett generellt berganläggningsprojekt. Virtuellt byggande är ett samlingsnamn som beskriver metoder med centrum runt objektsbaserade informationsmodeller. Informationen som dessa modeller ska innehålla kan beskrivas med hjälp av en standardiserad struktur som kallas Information delivery manual, IDM. En IDM inne-håller beskrivningar av processen, delaktiga aktörer och deras behov av informationsutbyte. För att försöka implementera denna struktur på ett berganläggningsprojekt användes teorin axiomatisk design.

The main purpose of this stydy was to evaluate the Aurora clinic (for women afraid of birth/delivery) in the south of Sweden. Questionnaires were sent to 197 women who had contact with the Aurora clinic during 2007 and 2008. The group of participants contained both pregnant women and women who have given birth. A total of 136 women replied. The results showed that both the average age and the level of education of the women were high.

Introduction: The caesarean section rate has increased significantly in the last twenty years. The fact that a woman has delivered by caesarean section once does not automatically mean that she will again. Some women want a repeat caesarean section while others want a vaginal birth. Objective: The aim of this study was to describe women?s thoughts, expectations and desires in the presence of their delivery after a previous caesarean section.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper was to examine preschool teacher?s thoughts about using Manual Signs as Alternative and Augmentative Communication as an aid for children in/with communication disabilities. The method I?ve used in the survey is qualitative interview.The three interviewed preschool teachers use Manual Signs foremost for those children who have a poorly developed spoken language. Manual Signs are used as a complement to the spoken language and the preschool teachers use it to increase the children?s power of concentration.

During the last years, the pharmacy market undergone major changes. Re-regulation that has been done in 2009 meant that monopoly was unlocked for competition. In a market where firms offer equivalent products, increases the importance of delivery service as competitive tool to differentiate themselves among the crowd. This report is the result of a case study at Peltor AB during the spring semester of 2007. The task Peltor gave us was to improve the delivery accuracy and to lower the high finical value of delayed orders (backorder), and to divide the products into logical groups. The logical group will be a useful tool to remain a high level of service. If the level of service increases the company will be more competitive.The electronic department at Peltor has problems with delayed orders. According to Peltor, the problem is based on delivery lead time which is presumed.To increase the delivery accuracy, a lead time analysis is made to find the accumulated delivery lead times for each product.

This thesis includes a description of the project flow for our projects at Semcon. The emphasis is on designing a manual for elMaster Concept.The project flow provides several minor and major elements plotting schedules for this project and the establishment of a manual. When a schedule is drawn, lists and tables with components and connections can be created. This is done to better manage drawings and make changes. These diagrams and tables are used in product manufacturing, testings, controls.

Då användare av någon produkt använder sig av dess manual, är det vanligt han eller hon hoppar över stycken som verkar irrelevanta eller för mödosamma att ta till sig i för hållande till den nyttan som informationen kan tänkas ge. Då kan användaren också missa information, som är nödvändig för att en uppgift/problem skall lösas. Denna studie har undersökt och jämfört tre olika sätt att markera ut ett stycke information i en manual. Med manualens hjälp har försöksdeltagarna sorterat kanaler på en TV. De olika sätten att markera informationen skiljer sig åt i den grad av relevans de har till uppgiften.

In information retrieval there is a problem with ambiguous words. To solve this problem word sense disambiguation WSD is used. Few studies combining information retrieval and word sense disambiguation have been conducted with Swedish words. The purpose of this thesis has been divided in two. The first purpose was to examine Swedish information retrieval and disambiguation in the query phase.
